General Information:
AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Sulfadiazine + Trimethoprim Boluses.
Sulfadiazine + trimethoprim bolus is a potentiated sulfonamide that is used as a potential antimicrobial in the treatment of infections in horses. A combination drug is more effective and has fewer side effects than when the drugs are used separately for horses. This combination is used in the treatment of acute strangles, respiratory infections, equine protozoal myeloencephalitis, acute urogenital infections, wound infections, abscesses, and uterine infections. It is also used as a treatment or prevention of postparturient infections, including vaginitis and metritis.
Side Effects:
As with all veterinary products, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of sulfadiazine and trimethoprim boluses. Always consult a veterinary physician or animal care specialist for medical advice before use.
Common side effects include Hypersensitivity reactions and hematologic effects, including anemias, thrombocytopenia, or leukopenias and diarrhea.
