AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Levamisole HCL boluses.
Levamisole belongs to a chemical class known as the imidazothiazoles, and it is the generic low-price anthelmintic par excellence for livestock. It is often used as a chloralhydrate salt, and sometimes as a phosphate.
Levamisole HCL boluses usage in dogs and cats is lower than in livestock.
It is important to note that AdvaCare’s levamisole HCL boluses are for veterinary purposes only, you should only use the kind that has been prescribed by a veterinary doctor or animal care specialist for an animal.
As with all veterinary medicine, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of levamisole HCL boluses. Always consult a veterinary physician or animal care specialist for medical advice before use.
Symptoms of levamisole HCL varies from hypersalivation, conic seizures, hyperesthesias and irritability, CNS depression, dyspnea, urination, defecation, to collapse. These effects are best treated by supporting the animals as they recover within hours of dosing.
Also, acute levamisole HCL boluses overdosage can result in death if there is respiratory failure. Should a respiratory failure occur, artificial ventilation with oxygen should be instituted until recovery takes place.
For a comprehensive list of all possible effects, consult a veterinary physician.
If any symptom persists or gets worse, or you notice any other symptom, then please seek veterinary medical treatment immediately.
