General Information:
AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Tranexamic Acid injection.
Tranexamic Acid Injection is commonly used for short-term control or to prevent excessive or heavy bleeding during dental procedures in patients with hemophilia. It is also used for trauma or orthopedic surgery.
A tranexamic acid injection is an antifibrinolytic agent. It works by blocking the breakdown of blood clots. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Side Effects:
As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of tranexamic acid. Always consult a doctor or health care professional for medical advice before use.
Common side effects include, but may not be limited to back pain; headaches; joint pain; muscle pain, spasms, or cramps; nasal or sinus congestion; stomach pain; tiredness.
Seek medical attention if the following develop: severe allergic reaction, calf or leg pain, swelling, or tenderness; chest pain; confusion; coughing up blood; decreased urination or difficulty urinating; eye problems; fainting; numbness of an arm or leg; one-sided weakness; seizures; severe or persistent dizziness or light-headedness; shortness of breath; slurred speech; sudden, severe headache or vomiting; unusual tiredness or weakness; vision changes or problems.

Do NOT use tranexamic acid if:
- You are allergic to any ingredient in tranexamic acid;
- You have blood clots, a history of blood clots, or conditions that may increase your risk of blood clots, you have bleeding in the brain, blood in the urine, or bleeding related to kidney problems;
- You have a disturbance of color vision;
- You have irregular menstrual bleeding of unknown cause;
- You are using birth control that contains estrogen and a progestin;
- You are using medicine to help your blood clot.
Use of tranexamic acid during pregnancy or breastfeeding is not approved. Consult your doctor or health care professional before having tranexamic acid. Tranexamic acid should be used during lactation only if clearly needed.
Tranexamic acid is excreted into human milk at a concentration of about one-hundredth of the corresponding serum concentrations.
Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise.
