Rifampicin Eye Drops, also known as Rifampin, is a bactericidal antibiotic drug derivative of rifamycin. It is an antibacterial and antifungal agent used in the treatment of mycobacterial infections, actinomycosis, and histoplasmosis.
Rifampicin Eye Drops eliminate bacteria that cause tuberculosis (TB) or Neisseria meningitidis (a bacteria) and to prevent you from giving these infections to others. Rifampicin is also used to treat leprosy and has a role in the treatment of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in combination with the fusidic acid.
Additionally, this medication is also used to treat listeria species, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Haemophilus influenzae and Legionella pneumophila.
