Cephalexin’s action is majorly to eliminate bacterial infection and may not be effective in a viral or fungal infection.
Cephalexin is used as a potent antibiotic against infections; it belongs to the class of drugs known as cephalosporins.
Cephalexin is excreted in high concentration in the urine.

Indications and Usage
Cephalexin is indicated in the treatment of certain infections caused by bacteria. It is used for respiratory tract infections, bone infections, otitis media, skin and skin structure infections, and urinary tract infections.
Administration and Dosage
Use of cephalexin oral suspensions during pregnancy or breastfeeding may be harmful.

Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed the advisable dosage. The usual dose for adults is 250mg/5ml taken three times daily.
The usual dose for children is 250mg/5ml taken twice daily depending on age and body weight.
Children under the age of 5 years should take a tapered dose.
