Specimen

A specimen from the feces, cloacal secretions or eggs of the birds should be collected using the cotton swab, which is enclosed in a sterile blister pack. To achieve an accurate test outcome, it is essential to properly moisten the swab.

The cotton swab has to be placed in a buffer dilution immediately after the sample has been collected. To initiate the test, it is necessary to place the buffer dilution drops onto a specified area on the test cassette.

Form

The Cassette comprises a plastic case with a test strip inside. Within the cassette, there is a designated space for sample placement and a window displaying test lines as positive, negative, or invalid results.

Located inside of the cassette, the test strip utilizes a chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative assessment of Salmonella antigen presence within the avian biological sample.
