Specimen

To conduct the test, it is required to gather fresh whole blood and separate serum or plasma from it as soon as possible to prevent hemolysis. Tissues specimen can be also used for this test.

If serum/plasma is used, the sample should be placed directly onto the designated spot on the cassette using a capillary tube or dropper. Subsequently, the appropriate amount of the provided buffer dilution should be added to the cassette to initiate the test.

If tissue specimens are used, the sample should be collected using the enclosed cotton swab. For an accurate test outcome, the swab should be sufficiently saturated. The cotton swab has to be placed in a buffer dilution immediately after the sample has been collected. To continue with the test, it is necessary to administer the buffer dilution drops onto a specific area of the test cassette.

Form

The Cassette is structured as a plastic box containing the test strip. It provides a specific area for sample placement and incorporates a see-through window to display the test lines, signifying positive, negative, or invalid test findings.

The test strip inside of the cassette is intended to detect the Marek's Disease virus antigens in serum/plasma of avian species.
