AdvaVac™ Fowl Pox
Avian Pox (Fowl Pox) Vaccine is a live viral vaccine used for immunizing poultry against strains of the Fowl Pox virus. This veterinary vaccine is manufactured at GMP/ISO-certified facilities and is a part of AdvaCare Pharma’s comprehensive veterinary range comprising over 250 products.

What is the Avian Pox (Fowl Pox) Vaccine?

Therapeutic Class:
Target Species:

Active Ingredients: Fowl Pox Virus

Avian Pox (Fowl Pox) Vaccine is used to vaccinate poultry against infections caused by the Avipoxvirus (APV). Once infected, the infection is slow-spreading within the animal and there are no treatment options. Avian pox infection slows growth, reduces feed conversation, and lowers egg production.

Though the mortality rate is low and lesions typically remain on the skin, the infection may lead to death if it spreads to air passages. Vaccination remains the best control and prevention against highly contagious pox. This vaccine is recommended for use in healthy chicks between the ages of 8-16 weeks old, and immunity develops about 10-14 days after the vaccination.

The Avian Pox Vaccine is a live viral vaccine, which is combined with a tissue suspension from an embryonated egg or similar avian cell culture, this particular vaccine is quail-adapted. A small amount of the virus will trigger the animal's immune system, which allows it to develop immunity against re-infection.
