What are Magnesium Complex Capsules?
Magnesium Complex Capsules provide essential magnesium, a vital mineral involved in hundreds of bodily processes. The three forms of magnesium included in our formulation supply the benefits of each form, resulting in a highly bioavaliable, multifunctional magnesium supplement.
Magnesium is crucial for supporting muscle function and recovery, nerve transmission, bone health, and energy production. Magnesium Citrate, in particular, is often preferred for its potential calming effects, making it a popular choice for relaxation, nerve function, and even prevention of cramps. Meanwhile, Magnesium Aspartate supports ATP (energy) production for brain and athletic performance.
These capsules, also available as gummies in both magnesium glycinate and magnesium citrate forms, offer a palatable alternative to magnesium powders or tablets. Both forms are most suitable for adults and seniors seeking to supplement their magnesium intake for overall well-being, muscle comfort, or better sleep quality.
Manufactured by AdvaCare Pharma in ISO/HACCP-certified facilities, AdvaLife™ Magnesium Complex Capsules ensure a high quality, bioavailable source of this essential mineral.

Targeted Health Support
Benefits
Magnesium Complex benefits biochemical reactions
Every cell in the body needs magnesium for normal bodily function. It is included in the energy creation since it converts food into energy. It also improves muscle contraction and relaxation. It helps create and repair DNA and RNA, but it is also included in creating new proteins from amino acids. Magnesium positively affects the nervous system, which regulates neurotransmitters that play a massive role in the human body for different functions.
Magnesium Complex benefits muscle function
Magnesium supports muscle recovery and relaxation, especially in athletes and active individuals. It also supports muscle relaxation and prevents cramps. This mineral reduces muscle tension caused by intense exercise. It regulates the function of calcium and potassium across cell membranes, which are involved in muscle contraction and relaxation. It also prevents weakness and contributes to normal heart rhythms.
Magnesium Complex benefits sleep patterns
Magnesium helps regulate neurotransmitters like GABA, which promote relaxation and calm the nervous system. This makes it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep through the night. Magnesium supplements for sleeps also support the production of melatonin, the hormone that is responsible for the body’s sleep-wake cycle. It reduces nighttime restlessness, muscle tension, and symptoms of insomnia.
It helps individuals who are mildly anxious, experiencing premenstrual syndrome (PMS), in the postpartum period, or diagnosed with hypertension.
Magnesium Complex benefits heart health
Magnesium is crucial for maintaining a healthy heart. It helps regulate heartbeat, supports proper muscle function in the heart, and regulates blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels. Adequate magnesium levels in the human body can help lower the risk of heart diseases, arrhythmias, high blood pressure, and atherosclerosis.
Magnesium Complex benefits bone health
Magnesium keeps bones strong, and it contributes to bone structure by helping convert vitamin D into its active form, which helps in calcium absorption. About 60% of the body’s magnesium is stored in the bones, where it helps maintain bone density and reduces the risk of osteoporosis, especially with aging. This supplement is recommended for active individuals and aging people.
Ingredients
Magnesium Oxide is an inorganic salt of magnesium formed with ions of magnesium and oxygen. It is included in many bodily processes, including glucose regulation, nerve function, energy production, and DNA synthesis. It has lower bioavailability compared to some other magnesium salts, but it is great for supplementation because it has a high elemental magnesium content.
Magnesium Citrate has a high water solubility and better absorption compared with other magnesium forms and can help in treating magnesium deficiency. Magnesium citrate is involved in many body processes, such as muscle contraction and relaxation, nerve signaling, energy metabolism, and maintaining normal heart rhythms. It has good bioavailability, and it is often recommended for people who require effective magnesium supplementation.
Magnesium Aspartate is an inorganic salt created from magnesium ions and aspartic acid, an amino acid included in energy production. It is used in many physiological functions, including enzyme activation, nerve transmission, muscle function, and supports the Krebs cycle. It is included in sports supplements because it may help reduce fatigue and support athletic performance.

What is the evidence of Magnesium Complex being beneficial to muscle function?
A number of studies support the use of magnesium for muscle function in both athletes and seniors.
The effect of magnesium supplementation on muscle fitness: a meta-analysis and systematic review
Evidence shows that magnesium can improve skeletal muscle function. This study quantitatively assesses the effects of Mg supplementation on various muscle fitness outcomes. It included data from the Medline database and other sources, including randomized clinical trials (RCTs) published up to July 2017. Most studies show improvements in at least one of the following outcomes: leg strength, knee extension strength, peak torque, muscle power, muscle work, jump performance, handgrip strength, bench press capacity, resistance exercise performance, lean mass, muscle mass, muscle strength, and walking speed.
This study covered three population groups: athletes or physically active individuals (215 participants; mean age 24.9 years), untrained healthy individuals (95 participants; mean age 40.2 years), and elderly or alcoholic individuals (232 participants; mean age 62.7 years).
The analysis showed that the positive effects of magnesium supplementation were more evident in elderly and alcoholic individuals, but no significant benefits were observed in athletes and physically active participants.
This meta-analysis showed that there is no meaningful benefit of magnesium supplementation on muscle fitness in athletes and active individuals with generally sufficient magnesium levels. However, supplementation may be useful for those with magnesium deficiencies, such as the elderly or individuals with chronic alcohol use.
The effects of magnesium supplementation on exercise performance
This study evaluates the effects of magnesium (Mg²⁺) supplementation on physical performance and recovery in physically active women, using the advanced and sensitive measurement of ionic magnesium (iMg).
It included total of 121 participants were screened for plasma iMg levels, with 44 individuals (36.4%) found to have concentrations below the normal range of 0.53–0.67 mmol/L. Thirty-two women (mean age: 21 ± 3 years), representing a wide range of iMg levels (average: 0.54 ± 0.04 mmol/L), completed the 14-week study. At the beginning of the trial, resting blood pressure was measured, and participants performed both anaerobic and incremental aerobic treadmill tests. During the aerobic test, workload, oxygen uptake, and heart rate were recorded at the anaerobic threshold and at peak effort.
Blood samples were collected at baseline and at 4, 10, and 30 minutes, as well as 24 hours post-exercise, to assess iMg, total serum Mg (TMg), erythrocyte Mg (EMg), and other markers including calcium (Ca²⁺), potassium (K⁺), sodium (Na⁺), hemoglobin, hematocrit, lactate, and glucose. Participants received either 212 mg/day of magnesium oxide or a placebo in a double-blind setup for four weeks. Following a six-week washout period, the groups switched treatments in a crossover design.
Results showed that Mg²⁺ supplementation increased resting iMg levels compared to placebo. But no significant improvements were observed in performance or recovery measures.
This research shows that supplementing with 212 mg/day of magnesium oxide for four weeks raises resting ionic magnesium levels but does not improve physical performance or recovery in physically active women.
