Product Information
General Information:
AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Orlistat capsules.
Orlistat is a potent gastrointestinal lipase inhibitor used for obesity management. It acts by inhibiting the absorption and uptake of dietary fats.
Orlistat is insoluble in water but freely soluble in chloroform. It is highly soluble in ethanol and methanol. Orlistat ph is above physiological ph range.
Each orlistat capsule contains pellet formation consisting of 60 or 120mg of the active ingredient. It also contains inactive ingredients of talc, povidone, sodium lauryl, sodium starch glycolate and microcrystalline cellulose.
Orlistat typically works by inhibiting pancreatic lipase; an enzyme that breaks down fats in the intestine. In the absence of this enzyme (pancreatic lipase), fats from the diet are excreted undigested without being absorbed by the digestive system.
Orlistat metabolizes at the gastrointestinal wall and forms inactive metabolites. It is excreted via the urine.
