Do NOT use netilmicin sulfate if:
- You are allergic to netilmicin sulfate or other containing ingredients.
Use of netilmicin sulfate during pregnancy or breast feeding can be harmful to the baby. Consult your doctor or health care professional before administering this medicine.
Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise. Usual dose for adults is: 100mg every 8 hours. Usual does for children is: 2-2.5 mg/kg every 8 hours. Netilmicin sulfate must be administered regularly throughout the day for optimal therapeutic effect.
Netilmicin sulfate can cause serious balance or hearing problems, especially in patients with impaired renal function. It is important to lower dose if administered to such patients. Signs of ototoxicity include dizziness, ringing in the ears, or other hearing problems. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice any of these signs.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or have kidney problems because you may not be able to use netilmicin sulfate. Also, netilmicin sulfate should be used with caution in patients with vertigo, hearing problems, myasthenia gravis, or parkinsonism. Netilmicin sulfate can interact with other medications, such antibiotics and diuretics. Diuretics can enhance the toxicity of netilmicin sulfate by altering the antibiotic concentration in the blood. This medication should be used with caution in patients with neuromuscular disorders. Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking or medical conditions you have before your treatment with netilmicin sulfate injection.
