        Product Information

        General Information:
AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Chlorphenamine tablets.

Chlorphenamine tablets (chlorpheniramine) are a first-generation alkylamine antihistamine used in the prevention of the symptoms of allergic conditions such as rhinitis and urticaria. Chlorphenamine tablets provide temporary relief of symptoms due to hay fever or other upper respiratory allergies, sneezing, runny nose, itching of the nose or throat, and itchy, watery eyes.

        Side Effects:
As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of chlorphenamine 4mg tablet. Always consult a doctor or health care professional for medical advice before use. Common side effects include, but may not be limited to Dizziness, abnormal coordination, blurred vision, dryness of mouth and headache.

Seek medical attention if the following develop: Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); difficulty urinating or inability to urinate; fast or irregular heartbeat; hallucinations; seizures; severe dizziness, lightheadedness, or headache; tremor; trouble sleeping; vision changes.

For a comprehensive list of all possible effects, consult your doctor. If any symptom persists or gets worse, or you notice any other symptom, then please call your doctor immediately.

        Additional Information

Always consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking chlorphenamine tablets.

If your condition does not improve or becomes worse, call your doctor.

Because the most common side-effects of chlorpheniramine are feeling tired and sleepy and it may cause drowsiness, so driving or operating machinery should be avoided. It’s best not to drink alcohol while you are on chlorphenamine because alcohol will make the drowsiness worse.

        Do NOT use chlorphenamine if:

        • You are allergic to any of the ingredients in the chlorpheniramine tablet;
        • You are taking sodium oxybate or if you have taken furazolidone or a monoamine oxidase inhibitor within the last 14 days.

Inform your doctor before taking clorphenamine tablets if you are pregnant or if you are planning to become pregnant and if you are breast feeding.

Use of chlorphenamine tablets during pregnancy or breast feeding is only recommended when benefit outweighs the risk. There is little evidence with regards to the use of chlorphenamine tablets during pregnancy or breast feeding, so consult your doctor or health care professional before taking chlorphenamine tablet.

Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise.
Usual dose for adults and children 12 years and over is: 1 tablet 4 to 6 hourly. Maximum daily dose: 6 tablets (24mg) in any 24 hours.
Usual dose for children aged 6 – 12 years is: ½ tablet 4 to 6 hourly. Maximum daily dose: 3 tablets (12mg) in any 24 hours.
Not recommended for children under 6 years old.

There are 53 major drugs known that can interact with chlorphenamine. Some of the most important ones are followings: urazolidone, MAO inhibitors (eg, phenelzine), sodium oxybate (GHB), or tricyclic antidepressants and Hydantoins because the side effects may be increased. Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking, before your treatment with clorphenamine.
