General Information:
AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Betamethasone + Chlorphenamine Maleate tablets.
Betamethasone is a corticosteroid, it has strong anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive action and it works modifying the body’s immune response.
Chlorphenamine maleate is an antihistaminic commonly used to treat sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose caused by allergies or the common cold.
The combination of betamethasone + chlorphenamine maleate, an antihistamine tablet, makes a synergy of the two effects: it helps to treat the respiratory, dermatologic and ocular allergies, decreasing the inflammation. Betamethasone chlorphenamine maleate is effective also in case of hay fever (pollinosis), bronchial asthma, atopic dermatitis (eczema), allergic conjunctivitis, keratitis, non-granulomatous iritis. Betamethasone and chlorphenamine maleate tablets are especially indicated for the control of the inflammatory aspects of ocular diseases because they help to maintain the functional integrity of the eye while treating the specific infection.
Side Effects:

Common side effects include, but may not be limited to acne; clumsiness; dizziness; facial flushing; general body discomfort; headache; increased appetite; increased sweating; lightheadedness; nausea; nervousness; pain, swelling, or redness at the injection site; sleeplessness; upset stomach.
Seek medical attention if the following severe side effects develop: severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); black, tarry stools; changes in menstrual periods; changes in skin color; chest pain; easy bruising or bleeding; irregular heartbeat; mental or mood changes, pain, wasting, or weakness; seizures; severe nausea or vomiting; sudden severe dizziness or headache; swelling of feet or legs; symptoms of unusual skin sensation; unusual weight gain; vision changes or other eye problems; vomit that looks like coffee grounds .

Always consult your doctor or pharmacist before betamethasone and chlorphenamine maleate (antithistamine tablets).
If your condition does not improve or becomes worse, then call your doctor.
Do NOT use betamethasone and chlorphenamine maleate (antithistamine tablets):
- If you have shown hypersensitivity to any substance or excipient of this product or similar class drugs;
- If you have a systemic mycosis;
- With newborn or premature children;
- If you are taking MAO-Inhibitor drugs.
Strict supervision of the physician is mandatory before taking betamethasone + chlorphenamine maleate during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage; remember to lower the dosage gradually as the conditions improve. Do not exceed what they advise.
Dosage:
- Adults /children over 12 years old: 1 to 2 antithistamine tablets four times daily, after meals and at bedtime;
- Children 6 -12 Years: the recommended dosage is ½ antithistamine tablets three times a day.
Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking, before your treatment with others corticosteroids and estrogens, phenobarbital, phenytoin, rifampicin, ephedrine, anticoagulants, alcohol, tricyclic antidepressants, barbiturates, anti-psycothic, glucocorticoid.
