        Product Information

        General Information:
Letrozole Tablets is a medication that is used for the treatment of hormonal types of breast cancer in women after menopause, as well as helping to prevent any relapse by acting as an antineoplastic which aims to inhibit the development of tumors. This is done by decreasing the amount of estrogen the body makes, and so helping to slow down and eliminate the growth of cancer.

Its active ingredient is Letrozole, which can also be used to help with ovarian stimulation.

Even with its many benefits, Letrozole can also cause thinning or the wasting of bones, because of the reduction of estrogen in your body, however, precautions can be taken beforehand and during your treatment to monitor this.

Finally, for a full treatment, it may be necessary to take the tablet every day for a prolonged period of time, ranging from anything from months to years. This will always be determined by the doctor.

        Side Effects:
As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of Letrozole. Always consult a doctor or health care professional for medical advice before use. Common side effects include, but may not be limited to dizziness, dry skin, fatigue, headache, hot flushes, hair loss, increased sweating, muscle pain, pain in bones and joints, vaginal bleeding. Seek medical attention if the following develop: chest pain, difficulty breathing, fainting, mouth ulcers due to infection, rapid heart rate, severe fever, chills, severe persistent blurred vision, sudden chest pain, swelling of the face and throat, yellow skin and eyes.

For a comprehensive list of all possible effects, consult your doctor.

If any symptom persists or gets worse, or you notice any other symptom, then please call your doctor immediately.

        Additional Information

Driving or operating machinery should be avoided, as it may cause dizziness and drowsiness.

Do NOT use Letrozole Tablets if:

        • You are allergic to anything within letrozole.
        • You have not yet started menopause.
        • You are pregnant.
        • You are breastfeeding.

You should not take letrozole during pregnancy or breast feeding.

Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise. Usual dose for adults is: one tablet a day.

There are many known interactions between letrozole and other drugs, some of which are significant. For this reason you must consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking, as well as giving them a full history of any prior illnesses, before your treatment with letrozole.
