Product Information
General Information:
Exemestane Tablets are a steroidal aromatase inhibitor manufactured and used in the adjuvant treatment of hormonally-responsive breast cancer in postmenopausal women. Its active ingredient lowers estrogen production in the body by blocking the aromatase enzyme, which is the enzyme responsible for estrogen synthesis.
Exemestane was developed to fight breast cancer in post-menopausal women, who need particularly aggressive therapy, and for whom first-line defenses, such as tamoxifen, have not worked.
The tablet should only be taken orally.
