        Product Information

        General Information:
Artemether + Lumefantrine tablets are an anti-malarial agent manufactured and used for the treatment of falciparum malaria in adults and children. This drug is the only prequalified, fixed-dose ACT combining artemether and lumefantrine. Their combination comes as a tablet which is manufactured to be taken orally. Normally, it should be taken twice a day for 3 days, or as instructed by your doctor. Always take artemether + lumefantrine tablets with food. If the patient can’t swallow the tablets they can be crushed and mixed with 1 to 2 teaspoons of water in a clean container for administration immediately prior to use. The patient can then rinse the container with more water and swallow the contents.

A repeat dose should be taken if the patient vomits within 1 to 2 hours of administration. If the repeat dose is vomited, an alternative anti-malarial treatment is recommended.

This fixed-dose combination is of great benefit to patients as it facilitates treatment compliance and supports optimal clinical effectiveness.
