General Information:
AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Sulfadiazine + Trimethoprin injection.
Sulfadiazine + Trimethoprim Injection acts synergistic and usually bactericidal against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria like E. coli, Haemophilus, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Staphylococcus and Streptococcus spp. Treatment of gastrointestinal, respiratory and urinary tract infections caused by TMP and Sulfadiazine sensitive bacteria in horse, foal, calves, cattle, pig.
It is important to note that AdvaCare’s sulfadiazine + trimethoprim is for veterinary purposes only, you should only use the kind that has been prescribed by a veterinary doctor or animal care specialist for an animal.
Side Effects:
As with all veterinary medicine, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of sulfadiazine + trimethoprim injection. Always consult a veterinary physician or animal care specialist for medical advice before use.
Side effects may include:
1. Temporary swelling at injection sites may occur.
2. Sulfanilamide and its metabolin can precipitate in the urine. Long-term application easily makes crystallization which causes crystalluria, hematuresis, and blocking of kidney tubules.
3. In cats, leukopenia, and anemia.
4. In horses, an intravenous injection can cause temporary paralysis, oral may cause diarrhea.

Refer to an animal care specialist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise, and complete the full treatment, as stopping early can result in a recurrence or a worsening of the problem. Usual dosage is as follows:
50-100mg for each 1kg of livestock.
Once-twice every day, continuously for 2 or 3 days.
Consult with an animal care specialist about any other medications that are being taken by the animal, and their medical history, before their treatment with sulfadiazine + trimethoprim injection.
