Doxycycline shows bacteriostatic activity against many gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including E. coli, Bordetella, Campylobacter, Haemophilus, Pasteurella, Salmonella, Staphylococcus and Streptococcus. The withdrawal time is 5 days for poultry, 8 days for pigs, and 14 days for calves, lambs, and kids. For eggs, it is 4 days.

The usual dose is 10mg/kg of bodyweight. The duration of treatment is 3-5 days. It can also be administered as 300g per 1000 liter of drinking water.
