Specimen

For testing purposes, fresh whole blood needs to be collected. Alternatively, serum or plasma can be used for this test, if promptly isolated from the blood to prevent hemolysis.

After collection, the specimen should be stored under cool conditions and brought to the cassette as soon as possible. The quality of the specimen can affect result accuracy.

Using a capillary tube or dropper, the sample should be placed onto the specified section of the cassette. Immediately after that, the buffer dilution drops are to be introduced to the cassette, in order to proceed with the test.

Form

The Cassette is structured as a plastic box containing the test strip. It provides a specific area for sample placement and incorporates a see-through window to display the test lines, signifying positive, negative, or invalid test findings.

The test strip enclosed inside of the plastic box has reagents that detect the presence of Brucella antibodies in serum or plasma of canine, bovine, and ovine species.
