Avermectin Injection

General Information:
AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Avermectin Injection.

An Avermectin Injection is for the treatment of a broad spectrum of nematodes affecting cattle and swine. It effectively treats and controls at a low-volume dose the following internal and external parasites that may impair the health of cattle and swine: gastrointestinal roundworms (including inhibited brown stomach worm in cattle), grubs, lungworms, sucking lice and mange mites of cattle; and gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, lice and mange mites of swine.

Avermectin is also used for the treatment of a broad spectrum of nematodes, mites and other parasitic insects affecting other livestock and poultry.

It is important to note that AdvaCare’s Avermectin Injection is for veterinary purposes only, and whilst there are types available for human use, you should only use the kind that has been prescribed by a veterinary doctor or animal care specialist for an animal.

Side Effects:
As with all veterinary medicine, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of Avermectin Injection. Always consult a veterinary physician or animal care specialist for medical advice before use. Side effects If used for a long time, including coma, hypotension, and respiratory failure. These effects are usually transient; severe effects are not a regular occurrence and probably occur only with substantial overdose.

Higher dosages, such as those used to treat demodectic mange, sarcoptic mange, ear mites and other parasitic infections, are more likely to be associated with adverse reactions. However, for most dogs and cats, avermectin is considered to be a relatively safe medication when used appropriately.

In cats, avermectin, side effects include: agitation, lack of appetite, dilated pupils, paralysis of hind legs, muscle tremors, disorientation, blindness and other neurological signs, such as head pressing or wall climbing.

In dogs, the risk of side effects associated with avermectin depends on the dosage, on the susceptibility of the individual dog and on the presence of heartworm microfilaria (a larval form of the heartworm).

When used at a low dose for heartworm prevention in a dog free of heartworms, avermectin is relatively safe, however at higher doses which may be used for treating other parasitic infections, the risk of side effects increases, side effects such as vomiting, dilated pupils, muscle tremors, blindness, lethargy, lack of appetite and dehydration.
