What is Tenofovir DF?
Active Ingredients: Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate
Tenofovir DF Tablets are an antiviral drug that is used for the treatment of HIV in adults and children over 2 years old. This medication is used in combination with other HIV therapies to reduce the risk of HIV transmission and improve the lifespan and general health of those with HIV infection.
Tenofovir DF is also used to treat chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in adults and children over 2 years old.

How should Tenofovir DF Tablets be used?

What dose should be taken?
The usual dose for adults is 300mg per day.
For pediatric patients over 2 years old, the usual dose is 8mg/kg per day.
The dosage is based on medical condition, response to the treatment, age, and weight. Refer to a doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise.
Side Effects

Precautions
Do NOT use Tenofovir DF Tablets if you: • You are allergic to Tenofovir or any of the other ingredients.
There are known potential drug interactions with Terbinafine, including adefovir. Do not take this drug with any combination drug that contains tenofovir.
This medication may not be suitable for people with certain conditions, including:
- liver or kidney disease
- HIV (for patients being treated for hepatitis B)
