        General Information:
        AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Tamsulosin + Dutasteride Tablets.

        Tamsulosin + Dutasteride tablets are a combination of a selective inhibitor of type 1 and type 2 isoforms of 5-alpha-reductase and alpha-adrenergic antagonist. The work on the smooth muscles of the prostate and their actions decreases neck and urethral resistance. Dutasteride prevents testosterone from converting to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body. DHT is involved in benign prostatic hyperplasia development. Tamsulosin relaxes the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck. This action makes urinating easy and comfortable. Tamsulosin + Dutasteride is used to treat and manage benign prostatic hyperplasia. Dutasteride is mainly excreted in the feces. Tamsulosin is excreted in urine (70%) and feces (21%).

        Side Effects:
        As with all pharmaceutical medicines, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of tamsulosin + dutasteride tablets. Always consult a physician for medical advice before use. Common side effects may include orthostasis, ejaculation disorders, dizziness, breast enlargement, impotence, breast disorders, and decreased libido.         Indications and Usage

        Tamsulosin + dutasteride tablets are indicated in the treatment and management of benign prostatic hyperplasia. The medication also relieves the symptoms and pains associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia.

        Precautions

        Do NOT take tamsulosin + dutasteride if:

        • You are hypersensitive to its active ingredients;
        • You are breastfeeding or pregnant;
        • You have prostate cancer or other urological conditions;
        • You are hypotensive;
        • You are below 18 years old;
        • You are going to donate blood within 6 months of taking this medication;
        • You have not consulted with your doctor.
        Administration and Dosage

        Use of tamsulosin + dutasteride tablets during pregnancy or breastfeeding appears to be harmful.

        Consult your doctor or health care professional before taking tamsulosin + dutasteride tablets. Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed the advisable dosage. The usual dose for adults is 0.4mg + 0.5mg taken once daily; take it 30 mins after a meal. This drug is not for children below the age of 18 years.

        Interactions

        Possible interactions with tamsulosin + dutasteride tablets include aspirin, vitamin supplements, steroids, antifungals, antibiotics, and host of other medications.         Overdose
