        AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Ofloxacin oral suspensions.

        Ofloxacin belongs to the fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics. Ofloxacin is indicated for bacterial infections. It has a unique mechanism of action and it is a potent antibiotic. Ofloxacin works by halting the multiplication of bacteria by inhibiting the repair and reproduction of their DNA. This action inhibits the bacteria growth and subsequently leads to its death. Ofloxacin is excreted unchanged via the kidneys (urine) with only 4 to 8% being excreted in the feces.

        Side Effects:
        As with all pharmaceutical medicines, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of ofloxacin oral suspensions. Always consult a physician for medical advice before use.

        Common side effects may include: abdominal pain, anxiety, tarry stools, confusion, diarrhea, fever, decreased appetite, joint pain, dizziness, runny nose and change of taste.         Indications and Usage

        Ofloxacin is indicated for the treatment of a variety of bacterial infections. It is used in treating conditions like gonococcal infections, pneumonia, bronchitis and some other types of infectious diarrhea. Ofloxacin also manages urethritis, cystitis, and pyelonephritis.

        Precautions
        Do not take ofloxacin if:

        • You are allergic to it;
        • You have other allergies;
        • You have seizure disorders;
        • You have myasthenia gravis;
        • You have joint/tendon problems;
        • You have serious kidney and liver diseases;
        • You have not told your doctor about your systemic health problems.
        Administration and Dosage

        Use of ofloxacin oral suspensions during pregnancy or breastfeeding does appear to be harmful. Consult your doctor or health care professional before taking ofloxacin. Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed the advisable dosage. The usual dose for adults is 50mg/5ml taken once a day. Ofloxacin is not for use in children below 18years of age.

        Interactions

        Possible interactions with ofloxacin oral suspensions include aspirin, quinidine, corticosteroids, Ethinyl estradiol, escitalopram, and antidiabetic medications. Ofloxacin oral suspensions should not be taken with alcohol. Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking, before your treatment with ofloxacin oral suspensions.

        Contraindications

        Ofloxacin is contraindicated if:

        • You have a history of systemic diseases like brain damage, kidney damage, and liver impairments;
