Methyldopa Tablets are a medication to treat high blood pressure, also known as hypertension. Lowering heart pressure then helps to prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Methyldopa works by relaxing the blood vessels so blood can more easily flow.
Methyldopa is the L-isomer of alpha-methyldopa. It decreases the level of certain chemicals in the blood, allowing the blood vessels to widen and the heart to beat more slowly and easily.
As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of methyldopa tablets. Always consult a doctor or health care professional for medical advice before use.
