How are Labetalol HCL Tablets used?

This medication has been manufactured to be taken orally. Labetalol HCL should be taken with food.

What dose should be taken?

The usual dose is 100-400mg, taken twice per day. An initial starting dose is 100mg per dose and may increase by 200mg per day, every 2-3 days. The maximum dosage is 2400mg per day.

For pediatric patients, the usual dose is 4mg/kg, divided and taken in 2 doses. The maximum dose is 12mg/kg/day or 1200mg per 24 hours.
