Cold + Flu Oral Suspension is a combination medicine used to relieve symptoms associated with the common cold, flu, or allergies. It helps treat symptoms like cough, stuffy nose, and chest congestion. This medicine is not recommended to treat coughing that is associated with asthma, emphysema, or smoking.

Cold + Flu Oral Suspension is available in two formulas: Cold&Flu Relief™ and Cold&Flu Relief MAX™.

Cold&Flu Relief™ is a combination of:

Dextromethorphan HBr: a cough suppressant that works by interfering with the cough reflex.
Guaifenesin: an expectorant, which works by thinning the mucus and phlegm in the lungs.
Phenylephrine HCL: a decongestant, which acts as a vasoconstrictor by narrowing blood vessels.

Cold&Flu Relief MAX™ also includes Paracetamol (acetaminophen). Paracetamol is an analgesic/antipyretic drug that reduces fever and relieves headache and pain.

Uses

What is Cold + Flu Oral Suspension used for?

It's used to temporarily relieve cold or flu-related symptoms like cough, sneezing, body aches, or runny nose.

How should Cold + Flu Oral Suspension be used?

This medication has been manufactured as a liquid to be taken orally.

What dose should be taken?

The usual dose is 20ml, taken every 4 hours as symptoms persist. Shake well before use. Drink a glass of water after taking this medicine, to help loosen mucus and to reduce dehydration.

Refer to a doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed the advisable dosage. The dosage is based on medical condition, response to the treatment, age, and weight.

Side Effects

As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of Cold + Flu Oral Suspension.

Common side effects include, but may not be limited to:

diarrhea or constipation
drowsiness
dizziness
feeling restless or irritable
upset stomach
nausea

Precautions

Do NOT use Cold + Flu Oral Suspension if:
