Carvedilol is a potent beta-blocker.
Although how Carvedilol treats high blood pressure is not fully understood, it is known that carvedilol improves the workload of your heart, high heart rate, exercise-induced heart stress and high heart rate upon standing.
Carvedilol Tablets widens the blood vessels, with this effect, blood pressure is reduced.
Carvedilol is metabolized in the hepatic system and excreted in feces. A small percentage is excreted in urine.
Side Effects:
As with all pharmaceutical medicines, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of carvedilol tablets.

Common side effects may include dizziness, unusual tiredness, diarrhea, high blood sugar, slower heart rate, weight gain, changes in sex drive, nausea, itchy skin, and dry eyes.

Indications and Usage
Carvedilol is used to treat high blood pressure. It improves how well the heart works, helps heart attack survivors and aids if you have had heart failure.
This medication is indicated in the management of left-ventricular dysfunction, heart failure, and high blood pressure.
Administration and Dosage
Use of carvedilol tablets during pregnancy or breastfeeding may appear to be harmful.

The usual dose for adults is 6.25mg taken twice per day.
Maximum dosage is 25mg taken twice per day

Interactions

Overdose

Adverse Reactions and Precautions
Do NOT take carvedilol if
- You are below 18 years old;
- You are asthmatic;
- You have a very low heart rate, or you have heart problems;
- You have a severe liver problem;
- You have low blood pressure;
- You have chronic bronchitis or emphysema;
- You have renal disease;
- You are at increased risk of small pupil syndrome.
