General Information:
Mitomycin C Powder for Injection is an antineoplastic and antitumor antibiotic chemotherapy drug produced by Streptomyces caespitosus. It works by sticking the cancer cell’s DNA together so that it cannot come apart again, which means that the cell cannot divide, so cancer cannot grow further.
Mitomycin C Powder for Injection is given intravenously to treat upper gastrointestinal (e.g. esophageal carcinoma), rectal cancers, pancreatic, neck cancers, cervix cancers, lung cancers, and breast cancers, but can also be given via a bladder instillation for superficial bladder tumors.
Side Effects:
As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of mitomycin C. Always consult a doctor or health care professional for medical advice before use. Common side effects include, but may not be limited to nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, tiredness, loss of appetite. Seek medical attention if the following develop: fever on the day of treatment, pneumonia, sores in the mouth, high blood pressure.
