General Information:
Doxorubicin hydrochloride injection is indicated in the treatment of neoplastic conditions such as acute myeloblastic and lymphoblastic leukemia, soft tissue and osteogenic sarcomas, breast carcinoma, ovarian carcinoma, testicular carcinoma, thyroid carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, lymphomas, and bronchogenic carcinoma. It is frequently used in a combination chemotherapy regimen, involving other cytotoxic drugs.
Side Effects:
As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of doxorubicin hydrochloride. Always consult a doctor or health care professional for medical advice before use. doxorubicin side effects include, but may not be limited to: changes in menstrual period, diarrhea, increased tear production, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, reddish urine, redness of the eyes, and temporary total loss of the hair. Seek medical attention if the following develop: pain at the place of the injection, pain in swallowing, signs of anemia or bleeding, signs of an infection, sores in the mouth.

Additional Information
Do NOT use doxorubicin hydrochloride if:
- You are allergic any component of doxorubicin Hydrochloride.
- You have low blood cell counts caused by previous treatment with other cancer medications or radiation therapy.
- You have decreased heart function.
- You have severe heart rhythm problems.
- You have had a recent myocardial infarction.
- You have severe liver function impairment.
There is little evidence with regards to the use of doxorubicin Hydrochloride during pregnancy or breast feeding, and so consult your doctor or health care professional before taking doxorubicin Hydrochloride.
Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise. Usual dose for adults is: 10mg, 50mg or 150mg, depending on the patient and the disease.
Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking, before your treatment with doxorubicin Hydrochloride injection.
