General Information:
Dactinomycin Powder for Injection is a type of antibiotic that is only used in cancer chemotherapy. It works by slowing down or stopping the growth of cancer cells in the body. Dactinomycin Powder for Injection is used as a treatment for Wilms’ tumors, Ewing sarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, trophoblastic neoplasms, and metastatic nonseminomatous testicular carcinoma.
It is also indicated as a single agent, or as part of a combination chemotherapy regimen to treat gestational trophoblastic neoplasia. Dactinomycin is a palliative that can be used alone or as a adjunctive treatment for recurrent or locoregional solid malignancies.
Side Effects:
As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of dactinomycin. Always consult a doctor or health care professional for medical advice before use. Common side effects include, but may not be limited to blood in the urine, heartburn, diarrhea, cough, unusual tiredness, fever, stomach pain. Seek medical attention if the following develop: darkening of the skin, nausea, and vomiting, skin rash or acne, unusual weakness.

- Hypersensitivity to any component of this product.
- You contract chickenpox or herpes zoster before you begin treatment.
