General Information:
Carboplatin injection is manufactured and used to treat various types of cancer and can be used on its own, or in combination with other medications to slow or stop cancer cell growth.
Carboplatin injection is for the treatment of ovarian cancer of epithelial origin in first-line therapy and in second-line therapy after other treatments have failed. Carboplatin is also a treatment for other types of cancer including small cell lung carcinoma, carcinoma of the head, neck, and testis, some pediatric brain tumors, soft tissue sarcomas, and neuroblastoma.
Carboplatin Side Effects:
As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of carboplatin injection. Always consult a doctor or health care professional for medical advice before use. Common carboplatin side effects include, but may not be limited to constipation, diarrhea, hair loss, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach pain, vomiting, and weakness. Seek medical attention if the following develop: vomiting or diarrhea.

Driving or operating machinery should be avoided, as carboplatin injection may cause pain and other side effects.
Do NOT use carboplatin injection if:
- You are allergic to any component of carboplatin.
- You have severe bone marrow depression or severe bleeding problems.
Use of carboplatin during pregnancy or breastfeeding can be harmful to the baby, so it is recommended not to breastfeed while using carboplatin. Consult your doctor or health care professional before taking carboplatin.
