Product Information
AdvaCare is a CE, ISO and USFDA manufacturer of Prostate-specific Antigen Test Kits.
A prostate-specific antigen test is a blood test that diagnoses prostate problems. The prostate-specific antigen test kit is a valuable tool for the diagnosis of early prostate cancer. Prostate-specific antigen test kit uses colloidal gold conjugate and anti-PSA antibodies to detect total PSA amount in blood, serum or plasma.
The mixture migrates upward on the membrane chromatographically by capillary action to react with anti-PSA antibodies on the membrane which generates a colored line. Prostate glandular and endothelial cells produce prostate-specific antigens.
Prostate-specific Antigen (PSA) has 3 different forms in the serum. PSA levels in serum between 0.1-2.6ng/ml are healthy, between 3-10ng/ml is the uncertain zone and over 10ng/ml is usually a sign of cancer or a problem with the prostate.
AccuQuik test kit has a cut-off value on 3ng/ml and the reference value of 10ng/ml.

Additional Information
Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in men. There are different types of prostate cancer, some of which grow slowly and may require minimal or even no treatment, while others are aggressive and spread at a quicker pace.
Please note that the earlier prostate cancer is detected, usually when it is still confined to the prostate gland, the higher the chances of successful treatment.
Often there are no symptoms during the early stages of prostate cancer, but screening can detect changes that indicate the presence of cancer in the body. Symptoms of prostate cancer in males include but are not limited to: difficulty starting and maintaining urination, trace amounts of blood in the urine or semen, pain during ejaculation (in some cases), difficulty in getting or maintaining an erection, a frequent urge to urinate, especially at night, bone fracture (bone pain) especially in the hip, thigh and shoulder regions, and acute weight loss.
