Product Information
AdvaCare is a CE, ISO and USFDA manufacturer of Compression Bandages.
The StayGuard™ brand of Compression Bandages, manufactured as either cotton or polyester and consisting of multiple sizes, is internationally distributed and recognized for reliable quality and exceptional value. With distribution across developed and developing markets alike, our products are uniquely positioned as the brand of choice for medical professionals.
AdvaCare’s compression bandages are specially designed to act as a reliable treatment for healing a patient’s venous leg ulcers and managing leg swellings. Our bandages work by reducing the venous pressure in the leg and helping blood returning to the heart. This is done by providing support for the veins which enable the valve to work more efficiently.
The compression bandages, available in either cotton or polyester, consist of two, three or four layers which are applied from the toe to the knee. Always consult a licensed health professional on which is the most appropriate bandage to heal your ulcer after examining your leg. AdvaCare’s compression bandages are GMP, ISO, CE and USFDA approved.

BENEFITS OF COMPRESSION BANDAGES
- Provided support for the veins which enable the valves to work more efficiently;
- Effective at healing venous ulcers than normal dressings.
USAGE
It is important to note that before the compression bandage is applied, a full leg ulcer assessment, including an arterial doppler assessment, should be completed by a licensed health professional. The bandages should never be applied without this assessment.
- The bandages are applied after the wound has already been dressed by using normal wound dressings;
- Prior to applying compression bandages, ensure that all bony prominences are protected with special wool padding. A layer of tubular bandage may be applied next to the skin from toe to knee so as to prevent any irritation that may be caused by the padding;
- Always ensure that all bandaging layers are applied form the base of the toe to below the knee. This is done so as to protect your foot and top calf from any swelling;
- When applying the bandage, ensure that the fit is firm and not tight as it will allow you to move your ankle and foot freely.
PRECAUTIONS
- Always wear your compression bandage as instructed;
- Avoid getting the bandage wet;
- When wearing shoes, try to wear comfortable well-fitting shoes to prevent pushing the bandages out of place on your foot;
- If you are overweight, watch your diet as losing some weight will take the pressure off your legs.
