What is a Drenching Gun used for?
It's used to orally administer fluids to livestock animals.
How should a Drenching Gun be used?
This instrument has been manufactured with a plastic tube, a nozzle, and a plunger. To fill the Drench Syringe, press the trigger and then insert the probe into the prepared liquid. Release the trigger until the desired amount is filled.
To use, insert the nozzle into the animal's mouth and then depress the plunger. This action allows the fluid to flow down the throat.
How do I clean a Drenching Gun?
To clean the tool, fill a large sink with warm soapy water. Disassemble the drench syringe and soak the injection tube and handle for 5-6 minutes. To clean the syringe component, draw water into it several times. Drain the soapy water and refill with clean water. Draw water into the syringe several times, and then dry it completely. If the piston begins to catch during use, the oil may be added as a lubricant.
If administering a live vaccine, disinfect the syringe with a non-corrosive disinfectant. Then repeat the cleaning procedure.
