Indications and Usage
This drug reduces LDL cholesterol levels and increases HDL cholesterol levels.
It also minimizes your levels of triglycerides (fats in your blood). Its actions prevent blockage of arteries which causes cardiovascular conditions like heart attack and stroke.
Rosuvastatin tablets act as a preventive management agent against circulation related problems.
Administration and Dosage
Use of rosuvastatin tablets during pregnancy or breastfeeding appears to be harmful. Consult your doctor or health care professional before taking rosuvastatin.
Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed the advisable dosage.
The usual dose for adults is 5–40mg taken once per day.
This drug is not for teenagers or children below the age of 18 years.
Possible interactions with rosuvastatin tablets include acid-reducing drugs, blood thinners, cholesterol drugs, hepatitis C drugs, HIV drugs, immunosuppressive agents, gout drugs and red yeast rice.
Rosuvastatin tablets should not be taken with alcohol. Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking, before your treatment with rosuvastatin tablets.
Taking more rosuvastatin tablets may cause poisoning and serious side effects. Please call the emergency department if you suspect rosuvastatin tablets overdose.
Adverse Reactions and Precautions
Do NOT take rosuvastatin if:
- You have liver problems;
- You are hypersensitive to its active ingredients;
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding;
- You have not consulted with your doctor or patient care specialist;
- You are below 18 years old.
