Procaine Benzylpenicillin is also known by the name of Procaine G Penicillin. It is the combination of the antibiotic benzyl penicillin and the local anesthetic agent procaine. This drug is a long-acting antibacterial therapy option that is sometimes administered when oral treatment is not possible.
Benzyl Penicillin displays bactericidal action against penicillin-susceptible microorganisms, such as staphylococci, streptococci, pneumococci, and Neisseria meningitidis. This antibiotic is not effective against penicillinase-producing bacteria.
