        General Information:
        AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Terbinafine capsules. Terbinafine is a potent antifungal drug used in killing fungal infections. It
        works by causing holes to develop in the cell membranes of the fungi.

        The fungal cell membrane is vital for its survival and metabolism, their cell membrane also blocks unwanted leakage of cells. By causing holes in the cell membrane, terbinafine kills the organism (fungi) and clears up the infection.

        This medicinal is an anti-fungicidal agent due to its mechanism of action. It is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and its metabolism is at the hepatic system. Terbinafine is excreted as trace amounts in urine.

        Side Effects:
        As with all pharmaceutical medications, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of terbinafine capsules. Always consult a physician for medical advice before use.

        Common side effects may include a headache, decreased appetite, pain in the muscles and joints, itchy skin rashes, disturbance such as indigestion, feeling sick, vomiting and abdominal pain. Some rare side effects may include dizziness, numbness, serious skin reactions and decreased levels of white blood cells. For a comprehensive list of all possible effects, consult your doctor.         Indications and Usage

        Terbinafine is indicated in the treatment of fungal nail infections, fungal skin infections and athlete’s foot (tinea pedis). It is also used to clear-up fungal infections which antifungal creams could not handle or recalcitrant fungal infections.


        Do NOT take terbinafine if:

        • You have a chronic liver disease;
        • You are allergic to terbinafine and its excipients.
        Administration and Dosage

        Use of terbinafine capsules during pregnancy or breastfeeding does not appear to be harmful. Consult your doctor or health care professional before taking terbinafine.

        Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed the advisable dosage. The usual dose for adults is 250mg taken once per day. The usual dose for children is 125mg taken once a day depending on age and body weight.


        Possible interactions with terbinafine capsules include narcotics, antidepressants, and some beta-blockers. Terbinafine capsules should not be taken with alcohol. Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking before your
        treatment with terbinafine capsules.


        Terbinafine is contraindicated if:

        • You have a severe liver impairment;
        • You are hypersensitive to its active ingredient;
        • You have any risk of possible anaphylaxis.

        Taking more medicines may cause poisoning and serious side effects. Please call the emergency department if you suspect terbinafine capsules overdose.
