General Information:
AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Salbutamol tablets.
Salbutamol Tablets, also known as albuterol, are a bronchodilator that relaxes muscles, opens air passages, and increases airflow to the lungs. Salbutamol is used to prevent and treat wheezing, difficulty breathing and chest tightness caused by lung diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Salbutamol is used to treat or prevent bronchospasm in people with reversible obstructive airway disease. Salbutamol is also used to prevent exercise-induced bronchospasm.
Salbutamol can be used in asthma to relieve the narrowing of the airways, in chronic bronchitis and in emphysema.
Keep the tablets out of the reach of children and store them at a temperature below 25 degrees C in a dry place.
Side Effects:
As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of salbutamol. Always consult a doctor or health care professional for medical advice before use. Common side effects include, but may not be limited to: feeling shaky, headache, irregular heartbeat, muscle cramps and flushing.
Seek medical attention if the following develop:
- Allergic reactions like difficulty breathing, low blood pressure, severe itching and collapse;
- Chest, jaw or shoulder pain;
- Rapid breathing, being sick and stomach pain;
- Muscle twitching or weakness.

Driving or operating machinery should be avoided, as it may make you light-headed or impair your vision.
Do NOT use salbutamol if:
- You are allergic to any of the ingredients in salbutamol;
- You are taking beta-blockers such as propranolol;
- Have threatened abortion (potential miscarriage) during the first six months of pregnancy.
Consult with your doctor or pharmacist before taking salbutamol tablets if you have a history of heart disease or if you have diabetes.
Use of salbutamol during pregnancy or breast feeding is recommended only if it is absolutely essential. There is little evidence with regards to the use of salbutamol during pregnancy or breast feeding, and so consult your doctor or health care professional before taking salbutamol.
Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise.
Usual dose for adults is:
4mg three or four days a day. Your doctor might increase the dosage to a maximum of 8mg three or four times a day.
Usual does for children is:
Children under 2 years: not recommended.
Children 2-6 years: 1-2mg three or four times a day.
Children 6-12 years: 2mg three or four times a day.
Children over 12 years: 2-4mg three or four times a day.
There are twenty major drugs that are known to interact with salbutamol. Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking, before your treatment with salbutamol.
