        General Information:
        AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Roxithromycin Tablets.

        Roxithromycin Tablets are a semi-synthetic macrolide antibiotic. It is used to treat respiratory tract, urinary and soft tissue infections. It works by killing or stopping the growth of bugs that cause the infection.

        Roxithromycin is derived from erythromycin, containing the same 14-membered lactone ring. Roxithromycin is used to treat infectious-inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug, which include: infection of the upper respiratory tract (including tonsillitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, otitis media); infection of the lower respiratory tract (pneumonia, including atypical pneumonia); infection of the urogenital tract (except for gonococcal infections); infections of the skin and soft tissue; odontogenic infection; acute gastroenteritis; duodenal ulcer and chronic gastritis; chronic prostatitis; and prevention of rheumatic fever.

        Side Effects:
        As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of roxithromycin. Always consult a doctor or health care professional for medical advice before use. Common side effects include, but may not be limited to nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and diarrhea.

        Seek medical attention if the following develop:

        • Fainting;
        • Changes in your heartbeat (fast or irregular);
        • Any sign of liver problem such as yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine or pain in abdomen;
        • Any allergic reaction: skin rash, itching, swelling of the lips, face and mouth;
        • Difficulties with breathing.

        Do NOT use roxithromycin if:

        • You are allergic to any of the ingredients in roxithromycin;
        • You are being treated with rye ergot alkaloids.

        Take special care with roxithromycin if:

        • You suffer a heart disease;
        • You have severe liver disease;
        • You have diarrhea during your treatment.

        Use of roxithromycin during pregnancy or breast feeding is not recommended. Consult your doctor or health care professional before taking roxithromycin. Roxithromycin can pass into breast milk so caution should be exercised when administered to nursing mother.

        Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise.
        Usual dose for adults is: the usual dose of roxithromycin is 1 tablet (300mg) once a day or 1 tablet (150mg) morning and one in evening for a duration of 5 to 10 days.
