What is Paracetamol + Caffeine?
Active Ingredients: Paracetamol, Caffeine
Paracetamol + Caffeine Tablets are a combination drug used for the short-term relief of moderate pain from headaches, muscle aches, menstrual periods, colds and sore throats, toothaches, backaches, and reactions to vaccinations. This drug is safe for adults and children over 12 years old.
This medication combines two active ingredients: Paracetamol and Caffeine.
Paracetamol belongs to the groups of medications called analgesics (pain relievers) and antipyretics. It shows a strong ability for pain management but exhibits weak anti-inflammatory activity. Though it is unclear the exact site of action, the active ingredient may work by either inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis or by activating descending serotonergic pathways.
Caffeine is in the methylxanthine class of stimulants. Though it is typically used to increase alertness, this drug increases the efficacy of analgesics when used as an adjuvant.
