        General Information:
        AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Duloxetine tablets.

        Duloxetine is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SSNRIs).

        Its exacts action is balancing the chemicals in your brain; these chemicals (neurotransmitters) are the chemicals that cause anxiety and depression.

        By balancing these body chemicals, duloxetine helps block the pain signals coming from nerves to your brain. Duloxetine’s actions relieve nerve pain (peripheral neuropathy) in people with diabetes, chronic back pain, arthritis, and fibromyalgia.

        Duloxetine is excreted in the urine in conjugated form.

        Side Effects:
        As with all pharmaceutical medicines, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of duloxetine tablets.

        Always consult a physician for medical advice before use.

        Common side effects may include: nausea, fatigue, constipation, dizziness, increased sweating, loss of appetite, dry mouth, sleepiness and decreased weight in children.

        More severe side effects may include liver damage, serotonin syndromes like coma, agitation, hallucinations, severe seizures, tremors, racing heart etc, severe skin reactions, abnormal bleeding, manic episodes in people with depression or bipolar disorder, seizures or convulsions, vision problems and problems with urination.

        Indications and Usage

        Duloxetine is used to treat generalized anxiety disorder, major depressive disorder, nerve pain caused by diabetes, fibromyalgia pain and chronic muscle/joint pains.

        Duloxetine is also indicated in depression and anxiety management.

        Administration and Dosage

        Use of duloxetine tablets during pregnancy or breastfeeding may appear to be harmful. Consult your doctor or health care professional before taking duloxetine.

        Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. The usual dose for adults is 30 – 60mg taken twice per day. The maximum dose for adults is 120mg per day.

        The usual dose for children aged 7 -17 years is 30mg taken once per day for two weeks, depending on age and body weight. The maximum dose for children is 120mg per day.

        Duloxetine is not for children below 7years old.

        Interactions

        Possible interactions with duloxetine tablets include serotonergic drugs, schizophrenia drugs, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, mental health drugs, anticoagulants, cancer drugs, Gaucher disease drugs, antibiotics and drugs for depression and stopping smoking.

        Duloxetine tablets should not be taken with alcohol. Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking, before your treatment with duloxetine tablets.

        Overdose

        Taking more medicines may cause poisoning and serious side effects. Please call the emergency department if you suspect duloxetine tablets overdose.

        Adverse Reactions and Precautions

        Do NOT take duloxetine if:

        • You have suicidal thoughts and behaviors;
        • You have serotonin syndrome problem;
        • You have hypotension;
        • You are going to drive or handle dangerous machinery;
        • You have severe kidney or liver disease;
        • You are below the age of 7.
