Indications and Usage
Amlodipine + Atenolol tablet is indicated in the management of hypertension not controlled by monotherapy.
This drug is also used in patients with angina pectoris and hypertension as a co-existing disease.
Amlodipine + Atenolol tablet also works as post-myocardial infarction medication and can be used in refractory angina pectoris where nitrate therapy has failed.
Administration and Dosage
Use of amlodipine + atenolol tablets during pregnancy or breastfeeding is harmful. Consult your doctor or healthcare professional before taking amlodipine + atenolol.
Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed
the advisable dosage.
The usual dose for adults is 5mg + 25mg taken once per day.
The maximum dose for adults is 5mg + 50mg taken once per day.
This medication is not for people below 18 years old.
Possible interactions with amlodipine + atenolol tablets include mental health drugs, heart rhythm drugs, pain drugs, antifungal medications, antibiotics, cholesterol medications, and medications for erection problems.
Amlodipine + atenolol tablets should not be taken with alcohol. Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking, before your treatment with amlodipine + atenolol tablets.
Taking more medicines may cause poisoning and severe side effects. Please call the emergency department if you suspect amlodipine + atenolol tablets overdose.
Do NOT take amlodipine + atenolol if:
- You have renal and hepatic impairments;
- You have asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD);
- You have circulation problems;
- You are going to stop taking this medication suddenly;
- You are diabetic;
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding;
- You are below 18 years old.
