Product Information
General Information:
Mesna injection is used to protect the bladder and kidneys in cancer chemotherapy involving cyclophosphamide and ifosfamide as an adjuvant. Mesna is used to reduce the risk of bleeding in the bladder, which is a very serious side effect of treatment with a cancer chemotherapy drug called ifosfamide. Mesna does not change its effects but works by making it less harmful.
Side Effects:
As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of mesna injection. Always consult a doctor or health care professional for medical advice before use. Common side effects include, but may not be limited to headaches, dizziness, constipation, flu, sore throat, fever, cough, diarrhea. Seek medical attention if the following develop: chest pain, rash, itching.

Do NOT use mesna injection if:
- You are allergic to any component related with mesna.
There is little evidence with regards to the use of mesna injection during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and so consult your doctor or health care professional before using mesna.
Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise. The usual dose for adults is based on your body size and your dose of ifosfamide.
Drug interactions may change how your medications work or increase your risk for serious side effects. Consult with your doctor about any medications you are taking, before your treatment with mesna injection.
