General Information:
Doxorubicin HCL powder for injection is used to treat many kinds of cancer like acute lymphoblastic leukemia, acute myelogenous leukemia, Hodgkin’s disease, leukemia, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, neuroblastoma, sarcoma, and Wilms’ tumor. It is also used to treat bladder cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, gastric cancer, small cell lung cancer, soft tissue and bone sarcomas, ovarian cancer, stomach cancer, and thyroid cancer.
Side Effects:
As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of doxorubicin hydrochloride powder for injection. Always consult a doctor or health care professional for medical advice before use. Common side effects include, but may not be limited to hair loss, skin problems, dehydration, diarrhea, red-colored urine. Seek medical attention if the following develop: chest pain and pain at the site of injection.

Do NOT use doxorubicin powder for injection HCL if:
- You are allergic to any of the components within the drug.
- Your bone marrow is not making enough blood cells.
- You experienced a burning sensation in your mouth after your last injection.
There is little evidence with regards to the use of doxorubicin HCL during pregnancy or breast feeding, and so consult your doctor or health care professional before taking doxorubicin hydrochloride.
Refer to your doctor or pharmacist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise. Usual dose for adults depends on the patient’s medical condition, age, size, blood cell levels, liver function and other anti-cancer drugs that are being taken.
