Both of these antibiotics belong to the family of medicines called penicillin antibiotics. They work as a bactericide through multiple mechanisms of action, including interfering with cell wall synthesis. It is an effective treatment for infections caused by bacteria such as Pasteurella multocida, Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, and Streptococcus equi.

Fortified Penicillin G Procaine is a combination of natural penicillin G (Penicillin G Sodium) and procaine hydrochloride, a local anesthetic that is added to reduce the pain caused by intramuscular administration.
