Cefazolin Sodium Powder for Injections + Water for Injection is a semi-synthetic cephalosporin antibiotic. Cefazolin, also known as cefazoline or cephazolin, is a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. Cefazolin is mainly used to treat bacterial infections of the skin. It can also be used to treat moderately severe bacterial infections involving the lung, bone, joint, stomach, blood, heart valve, and urinary tract.
Cefazolin is clinically effective against infections caused by staphylococci and streptococci of Gram-positive bacteria. These organisms are common with normal human skin. Resistance to cefazolin is seen in several species of bacteria.
Side Effects:
As with all pharmaceuticals, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of cefazoline sodium injection. Always consult a doctor or health care professional for medical advice before use.
Common side effects include, but may not be limited to: genital itching, white patches in the mouth, loss of appetite, heartburn, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, weakness.
