Indications and Usage
In calves, beef cattle, sheep and non-lactating dairy cattle it is indicated for the treatment of bacterial enteritis caused by escherichia, bacterial pneumonia (shipping fever complex) and pasteurella multocida.
In swine it is indicated for the treatment of Bacterial enteritis caused by escherchia coli and Salmonella choleraesuis.
In honey bees it is indicated in controlling of American foulbrood caused by paenibacillus larvae, and European foulbrood caused by Streptococcus pluton.
The concentration of drug required in medicated water must be adapted to compensate for variation in the age of the animal, feed consumption rate and the environmental temperature and humidity, each of which affects water consumption.
Administration and Dosage
General recommended dosage is: 200-800mg per gallon of water for the chickens (depending on the disease condition), 200-400 mg per gallon of water for the turkeys, 25mg per 45kg of body weight in growing turkeys daily; 10mg per 45kg of body weight in swine, cattle and sheep and 200mg per colony of honey bees.
Refer to an animal care specialist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise, and complete the full treatment, as stopping early can result in a recurrence or worsen the problem.
5 days for cattle or sheep from last treatment.
The solution is to be administered through drinking water, and fresh solutions should be prepared every 24 hours.
