AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Oxytetracycline premixes.

Oxytetracycline premix is a bacteriostatic antibiotic group of tetracyclines, which restrains the bacterial protein synthesis. It is engaged in combating gram-positive and gram-negative sensitive as Streptococcus spp., Clostridium spp., Brucella spp. Haemophilus spp. and Klebsiella spp. and moderately sensitive as Corynebacterium spp., Bacillus anthracis, E. coli, Pasteurella spp. and Salmonella spp., rickettsiae, chlamydiae, mycoplasmas; protozoan Theileria, and Anaplasma Eperythrozoon; Actinomyces spp. and spirochetes such as Leptospira spp.

It is important to note that AdvaCare’s oxytetracycline premix is for veterinary purposes only, and whilst there are types available for human use, you should only use the kind that has been prescribed by a veterinary doctor or animal care specialist for an animal.

Side Effects:
As with all veterinary medicine, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of oxytetracycline premix. Always consult a veterinary doctor or animal care specialist for medical advice before use. Although uncommon, some side effects might include an upset stomach, diarrhea, and irritation at the injection site. These side effects often improve as the animal’s body adjusts to the new medicine.

If the condition does not improve or becomes worse, then call a veterinary doctor or animal care specialist.

Refer to an animal care specialist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise, and complete the full treatment, as stopping early can result in a recurrence or a worsening of the problem. The usual dose is by mixing into the feed.

For Calves: 0.4 to 0.5kg/t each animal must not be given with more than 90 mg of tylosin/day and not less than 60 mg of tylosin/day.

For Pigs, for the prevention of dysentery: 5 kg/t for 3 weeks minimum, followed by 2kg/t of feed to the end of the risk period.

For Broilers: 40-50kg/t when they are the age of 0-5 days followed by a second administration in feed for 1-2 days at 3-5 weeks of age.

For Pullets: 50kg/t when they the age of 0-5 days, followed by a second administration in feed for 1-2 day at 3-5 weeks of age.

Consult with an animal care specialist about any other medications that are being taken by the animal, and their medical history, before their treatment with oxytetracycline premix.
