Product Information

General Information:
AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Ceftioufur HCL liquid suspensions.

Ceftiofur HCL Suspension is a cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat infections in dogs, horses, and other animals, like cattle, sheep, and swine. The drug works by attacking the cell wall of bacteria and inhibits growth, resulting in cell death. It is used to treat urinary tract infections associated with E. Coli and Proteus mirabilis in dogs. For horses, the drug treats respiratory infections associated with Streptococcus zooepidemicus.

It is important to note that AdvaCare’s ceftiofur HCL is for veterinary purposes only, and whilst there are types available for human use, you should only use the kind that has been prescribed by a veterinary doctor or animal care specialist for an animal.

Side Effects:
As with all veterinary medicine, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of ceftiofur HCL liquid suspension. Always consult a veterinary physician or animal care specialist for medical advice before use.

Side effects may include:

Adverse effects with the use of ceftiofur are typically rare and mild. Animals may experience immediate and brief pain at the injection site. If given in high doses, horses may experience diarrhea, and it has been reported that high doses may cause bone marrow suppression.

For a comprehensive list of all possible effects, consult a veterinary physician.

If any symptom persists or gets worse, or you notice any other symptom, then please seek veterinary medical treatment immediately.

Additional Information

Always consult a veterinary physician or animal care specialist before using Ceftiofur HCL.

If the condition does not improve or becomes worse, then call a veterinary physician or animal care specialist.

Refer to an animal care specialist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise, and complete the full treatment, as stopping early can result in a recurrence or a worsening of the problem.
