General Information:
AdvaCare is a GMP manufacturer of Procaine Penicillin G + Benzathine Penicillin injections.

Procaine penicillin G + benzathine penicillin injection are narrow spectrum penicillins with a bactericidal action against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria like Campylobacter, Clostridium, Corynebacterium, Erysipelothrix, Haemophilus, Listeria, Pasteurella, penicillinase negative Staphylococcus and Streptococcus spp.

It is used in the treatment of Arthritis, mastitis and gastrointestinal, respiratory and urinary tract infections caused by penicillin sensitive micro-organisms in calves, cattle, goats, sheep, and swine.

After intramuscular administration within 1 to 2 hours therapeutic blood levels are obtained. Because of the slow reabsorption of benzathine penicillin, the action is maintained for two days.

Side Effects:
As with all veterinary medicine, some unwanted effects can occur from the use of procaine penicillin G and benzathine penicillin injections. Always consult a veterinary physician or animal care specialist for medical advice before use.

With very high overdoses a diminished immune response can be observed.

Common side effects may include: abortion in sows (when overdosed), Ototoxity, neurotoxicity or nephrotoxicity.

Always consult a veterinary physician or animal care specialist before using procaine penicillin G and benzathine penicillin injections.

Usual dosage is as follows: 1mg of procaine penicillin G and benzathine penicillin per 20kg body weight in cattle and 1mg of procaine penicillin G and benzathine penicillin per 10kg body weight in calves, goats and swine (intravenously & subcutaneously). Procaine penicillin G and benzathine penicillin injections shouldn’t be administered if any hypersensitivity is discovered.

Refer to an animal care specialist for guidelines on dosage. Do not exceed what they advise, and complete the full treatment, as stopping early can result in a recurrence or worsening of the problem.
